40$ Tattoos

City Street
via The Sound Machine
... I'm outside in a sketch neighborhood with my brother and a friend. I heard from another friend that in the evenings tattoo artists do tattoos right on the street for really cheap. And it's legit - they're from tattoo shops and everything! I decide to go find the guy I'm planning on getting a tattoo from. Across the street there's a guy holding a big hand-written, neon yellow sign: "Tattoos 40$."

We keep walking. We turn down a street that's more deserted. There's a guy walking towards us in the distance, and suddenly there's a guy on what appears to be a huge brown furry dog/monster beast galloping towards us. I'm startled but not too concerned, but my friend starts running. "Let's get outta here!" And I trust him so I start running too.

We make it back to safety and I look at my phone. The location says I was just in the South side of Chicago. Yeah that was a bad neighborhood, good thing we got out of there...

Art

... I'm getting some artwork framed; some of my own drawings and a large map. I'm at the framing shop and the lady is laying all the art on a table. For some reason I'm getting the big map laminated.

Now I'm outside with my friend from high school. I'm talking to her about this art, and trying to point out a statue in the distance. I drew the statue and I'm pretty proud of how it turned out...

Waiting and Running

pumice soap
via Dirty Bunny
... I'm at a group retreat, like a girl scout convention, and it's in someone's private home. I walk to the bathroom but someone is in there so I stand by the door to wait. A troop of girls comes running by - giggling and having fun. I see my friend's daughter; she's smiling and laughing.

I remember that there's only one bathroom in the house - I should run back and get my shower stuff before there's a huge line! I'll wait until after I go to the bathroom though. Some girl comes and stands right in front of me. The other girl comes out and she tries to budge in

"Excuse me! what are you doing? I was here waiting first." I say to her and force my way ahead of her. She tries to argue with me but I'm not going to listen to that! I slam the door. Inside the bathroom there's a poster of Vegas. When I wash my hands the bar of soap is really scratchy and it hurts. The water is icy cold and I'm having trouble washing off all the soap.

I run across the green grassy yard to the other house so I can get my shower stuff. It's my old neighborhood and I'm running to my childhood friend's house. I go to the back - but when I run to the door it's covered over in brick! I have to use the second back door. I run inside and see another girl. She says to me "I hate sharing a bathroom. She's going to be my sister-in-law and I don't even want to share a shower! Does that sound weird?" Umm, ok. I don't say anything and run up the stairs two at a time. I have to get there before the line is too long!...

There She Goes...!

via *insert fancy name here*

... my friend C and I have tickets for the Miss America Pageant. They're for balcony seating but we really want to try to get into the main floor. I'm really confident that I can get us in. I know I can do it. We walk up to the ticket taker and C says they're main floor seats. The ticket lady says no - so I step in and start explaining that they are, oh and here I'll prove it. I find the receipt, which is folded to hide the seating location information, and show her the price.

"Oh yes, those are floor seat prices. Ok, go ahead."

... now I'm wearing a blue formal dress and I'm in a large retail store, like a Target. I'm practicing my walk because I've entered the Miss America Pageant at the last minute. I'm thinking of all the things I need to do to get ready!

- I want to find a different formal dress
- what about shoes?
- it's going to be fun
- I have a necklace I like, but I can't wear the same one for every outfit
- swimwear...
- what am I going to bring all my makeup in?
- it's going to be fun
- I want to wear a tiara, but is that in bad taste?

I keep practicing my walk...

We Are Going Somewhere

... I'm at the airport with K. The airport looks like one of the buildings where I went to college. There's a short line for security and at the end everyone has to scan a picture; mine is a drawing of an orange kitty. When the scanner-man scans mine it crops and enlarges just the cat. Everyone likes it.

Now we're waiting at the airport - our flight is delayed. It's been delayed for a LONG time so K and I decide to go out for a walk.  As we're leaving (we're on a bus) we see the people who we were waiting for! They're all dressed up like brown bears. Now we have to go back...

Family Portraits

... my friend's daughter is sitting on the couch looking through photos, which are all family portraits. She's picking one out to put in her backpack, which has a plastic window on it to put a picture in. It's cute, they look like a happy family.

There are other photos that she's looking at now too. They look like pictures from a work party - I see a picture of a co-worker and his family. She says she's going to pick out a picture to give to me. I sit down next to her and ask if I can help pick mine out. She says "no!" So I go back and sit down on the other couch...

My Friend

via Me
... I'm meeting some friends at a sushi restaurant. The restaurant is very white. White floor, walls, tables, chairs, very light and open. I see some people I know but that's not who I'm meeting. I turn around to look for my friends and then I see them - they're walking back in, looks like they're getting ready to leave now. I go over to say hi and I walk right up to my friend. He says "hey" and kisses my forehead. Aww, so sweet, a little awkward but that was so nice. A nice gesture of friendship...

An Epic Game

... nighttime in the city. I'm with a bunch of friends and more people. This is a game about zombies. The playing field - the entire city. The players - everyone.

I'm one of the last still in the game. I could win! I don't know who the zombie is. I get a tip from some of the people who are down. And here he comes! We see each other. Now we know who we are. In the rules of the game you can't tag someone while they know it - it has to be a surprise. The group of us run down the street, laughing, and plotting...
